OLA's goal is to use the arts as a means of creating positive social change. We provide arts training, leadership development, opportunity, and discipleship for our artists/trainees that equips them with the skill, knowledge, and ability to proactively & effectively engage their communities through performance and arts-based service work. Artist/trainees live within the community they come to serve, while using their artistic abilities to communicate love in an authentic way and provide healthy interaction through arts based service programs & events.
Camp SLAM(Summer Long Art & Movement) is a multi-week performing arts summer program for youth ages 4-15. SLAM consist of introductory to advance level training in dance, theater, creative writing, visual art, music, cooking, photography, vocal, and recording. SLAM culminates with a SLAM Finale in which students help to plan, create, and perform.
Risk Takers Basketball (RTB) is an athletic training and mentorship program. RTB's mission is to train skilled student-athletes and future community leaders. Our primary focus is basketball and our ultimate goal is to instill a stronger sense of community and leadership and life-long love of education. Additional programs include Shoot 2 Read, a small group tutoring program, and D-Up, a life readiness and leadership program.
